Greg Stolze's TERMINATION SHOCK
over 5 years ago – Wed, Dec 19, 2018 at 06:14:23 PM

Beloved cabal,

It is once again with great pride and not at all because of veiled threats of psychological or occult trauma that we pass along this important information.

Greg Stolze, familiar to many of you, has launched another Kickstarter for his roleplaying game of science fiction and intergalactic consequences, TERMINATION SHOCK. We are told that it is what you need if you are interested in the far future of human-alien interactions. You may have heard of it? Now it is heading to print.

The link is up there in the word TERMINATION SHOCK but we have repeated it in this line, as well, in case you missed it.

Peace and cosmic misunderstanding,
Cam and the Unknown Armies team

Greg Stolze’s Assorted Disasters!
over 5 years ago – Sat, Sep 15, 2018 at 09:17:34 AM

Hello, Unknown Armies backers! Cam and John have graciously given me an opportunity to cross-promote another Kickstarter project, one entirely relevant to UA.

ASSORTED DISASTERS is now live. I’m raising money to underwrite the release of short stories, most of which are about real bad things going down. The first story, EGREGORE, is funding at a good clip, but you may be more interested in the second story, Wednesday Night Drugs Club. It’s a story about four friends who meet every other week to get wrecked, and that’s sustainable until they run across something that is not the psilocybin they were promised. Pursuing the mysterious (and mystic!) drug Real Estate leads them down a rabbit-hole of escalating weirdness. Sound familiar? Maybe like a UA cabal? That’s because Wednesday Night Drugs Club is an Unknown Armies story, written entirely by yours truly.

If you’re interested in a fairly long short story (“a long short story? PARADOX DETECTED!”) sharing a setting with your favorite game of mystic obsessives, please navigate over to ASSORTED DISASTERS and give it a look. Thanks!

-G.

P.S. If you spread the word to literally everyone you know, that would also help a lot.

Greg Stolze returns to Reign!
over 5 years ago – Mon, Aug 13, 2018 at 12:09:09 PM

Beloved cabal,

Many of you may be aware that Unknown Armies co-creator Greg Stolze kicked off the RPG Kickstarter craze with a little book called the Reign Enchiridion, a digest-sized version of his RPG REIGN. This game, powered by the One Roll Engine that also appears in RPGs such as Godlike, NEMESIS, and Wild Talents, presents a fantasy roleplaying system that scales up from individual characters hacking, slashing, and exploring their way through the world to armies, mercenary companies, and kingdoms.

REIGN is back in a new Kickstarter from Greg that, if you're a fan of his unique approach to RPGs and game text, you owe it to yourself to check out. It's in the last week of the campaign and it's already well-funded past its goal so it's a sure-thing to back. Go check it out and tell 'em the New Inquisition sent you.

Peace,
Cam and the UA Production Crew

PS: Also, it's a hair over 24 hours until the end of the Over the Edge Kickstarter, which is also a sure-thing, so go check that one out if you haven't yet!

Bring your magick to the Edge with Over the Edge!
almost 6 years ago – Wed, Jul 18, 2018 at 01:47:52 PM

Beloved cabal,

You might have heard that we're crowdfunding a brand new edition of Jonathan Tweet's groundbreaking roleplaying game of weird urban danger, Over the Edge. On our blog at atlas-games.com, we even talked a little about the two games and why they're different and why they might have cross-market appeal. That's buzzword bingo lingo for "hey, if you love Unknown Armies, we think you'd also love Al Amarja."

This is a game about an island in the Atlantic near the Canary Islands that has been under the autocratic but beneficial rule of a family of liberators for decades, and has attracted all of the world's strangest, most dangerous, and occasionally most impossible people to its unregulated free-market streets. Mad scientists, invasive dimensional species, warlocks, corporate assassins, and street gangs abound. Character creation is fast and easy and the system is dirt simple.

We believe it's so good we're even giving folks a look at the current development draft, just like we did here in UA3. So if you back the project, take a look at the first update from last week and see what all of the fuss is about. We're confident it's a whole new kind of magick.

All digital stretch goals complete!
almost 6 years ago – Fri, Jun 29, 2018 at 10:56:20 PM

Beloved cabal,

It is with some small amount of relief and excitement that our production team can now declare all of the UA3 digital rewards and stretch goals to be complete. I've just sent out through BackerKit the final CSK, Kira Magrann's Sacred Pharma. I also figured out why many of you weren't getting email notification of these digital releases, so please excuse any sudden inbox swarm of emails from BackerKit - it appears the system is now catching up.

I want to thank all of you once again for your incredible support and patience this past few years for the UA3 project! It has been a labor of love for us at Atlas and our team is proud of the work we did. I'd like to especially thank the talented writing team of Jason Blair, Tim Dedopulos, Shoshanna Kessock, Sophie Lagace, Chris Lites, WJ MacGuffin, Ryan Macklin, Kira Magrann, Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan, Rabbit Stoddard, John Tynes, Chad Underkoffler, Monica Valentinelli, and Filamena Young; the extraordinary graphic design and art team of Aaron Acevedo and Thomas Deeny; the ever-present editorial powers of Colleen Riley; master adepts of production oversight Jeff Tidball and John Nephew; and of course Greg Stolze, our fearless lead designer, who brings us all this world he and Tynes created years ago and refuses to let us go without ritual payment.

As always please send any concerns or questions to me directly at cam AT atlas-games DOT com. If you know somebody who missed out on the game, all of these CSKs are scheduled to go on sale at our usual e-book vendors, and they're a great way to kick off a long campaign of broken people conspiring to fix the world.

All the best,
Cam and the Unknown Armies production team
