Happy Halloween, Cabal!

Beloved,

It is with great pride that we reveal this weekend the fourth book in Unknown Armies, Book Four: Expose. As we said way back in the original Kickstarter campaign, this book and the next, Book Five: Mine, are digital only. That means we're creating a PDF, ePub and MOBI version but no print version. Everyone who backed at a level that includes all the digital downloads gets these books.

EXPOSE
EXPOSE

Book Four has already been uploaded to BackerKit and you should have got an email notification. If not, go to BackerKit and check your account anyway - we've had some issues with folks getting these messages, but the files are definitely there.

MINE
MINE

Book Five is getting some last-minute love from Thomas but should be uploaded to your folders on or before Halloween (October 31).

If you didn't get in on a level that gets these books, or you've got friends who want copies, fear not. We're going to put them up for sale on our Paizo, Warehouse 23, and DriveThruRPG accounts in about a month. And who knows, if these books do really well on those platforms, we might look into a print version of them in the future.

Once we've distributed these, we're going to start rolling out more Campaign Starter Kits, and then finally the PDF Reference Tools which includes the master index of all five volumes of Unknown Armies AND the CSKs.

Until then, have a magickal Halloween and keep sharing the #UA3RPG love!

Another CSK, and Supplement News!

Beloved cabal,

CSK 002: The Young Practicals

Once again our production team has wrapped another campaign starter kit for your indulgences. If you backed the campaign at a level that gets these things, you should find it in your digital downloads folder. You may also have got an email about it! It's the second campaign starter kit, this time about a group of young upstart magicians, adepts, and avatars trying to make it in the occult underground. Writer WJ MacGuffin provides a loose story of pride, prejudice, and pretty people that should whet your appetites for more in-your-face magick.

Many people said last time that they DIDN'T get an email. And if you don't have a link, you might wonder how to access your profile for Unknown Armies 3. Here's how to recover that:

Books Four and Five

Book Four: Expose and Book Five: Mine are almost done! We're proofing the final layouts of these two books and Thomas is cleaning up some additional photographic artwork and doing his revision magick. Colleen Riley, Jeff Tidball, and yours truly have been proofing and brainstorming these documents for the better part of two months, but I think you're going to really love the final versions.

Just like the CSKs, Books Four and Five are going to be distributed through BackerKit and will go on sale at our usual online vendors (Warehouse 23, Paizo, and DriveThruRPG) a couple weeks after you lovely folks get your digital copies.

Expect another distribution update about these books when they're ready for prime time.

Over the Edge 25th anniversary Kickstarter!

Hold your horses - this isn't being launched just yet. But we do have a signup page for news and information to be emailed to you when we have it. We've brought Jonathan Tweet back for a new edition of Over the Edge, Atlas Games' RPG of personal conspiracy in a world of dangerous urgency. Have you heard the good tunes?

It's September Again!

Beloved cabal,

Many of you may already have seen a new email notice in your inboxes from BackerKit, letting you know that something new has shown up in your digital download folders.

What is this thing?

It's the first of our Campaign Starter Kits!

Raiders of the Lost Mart is the first of seven packaged campaign starters, each of which provides you with a ready-made cabal, an introductory objective, a bunch of background and setting content, and suggestions for taking the story beyond the first session. Our initial offering comes from award-winning writer and designer Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan, who has penned a disturbing if light-hearted take on America's finest retail institution, the mega-mart. Using the first page of the kit, you should be able to provide your player groups with everything they need to make a decision on playing the kit, and once they do, you can hand out the character sheets and launch your first Unknown Armies session.

Wait, I Didn't Get One

If you've had issues with BackerKit before, you might have them again, but with any luck the email should take you straight to your folders and let you grab your files. If you didn't get an email it's likely because your pledge level either doesn't include all digital downloads, or you added a couple of CSKs when you pre-ordered but the first one wasn't on your list.

If you have issues, drop us an email at cam AT atlas-games DOT com. If you didn't pledge a level that gives you a CSK or you didn't pre-order this one, worry not - we're going to make these products available widely after a few weeks. Look for it wherever you get your other Atlas Games PDFs and e-books.

We're going to try and roll these out every week or two, until you've got all seven. Thank you to everyone who helped playtest and give feedback and advice on the raw versions of these kits! I hope you get hours of fun out of them!

Best,

August Update!
over 6 years ago – Mon, Aug 07, 2017 at 09:58:00 PM

Beloved cabal,

Where does the time go? We are fast approaching Gen Con, which celebrates 50 years this year. You can expect to find Atlas Games and Unknown Armies at the show, booth number 1401 in the dealer hall. Not only is the Deluxe Set and loose copies of Books One, Two, and Three on our Gen Con supply list, but renowned designer Greg Stolze is running sessions at the show. If you're one of those fine attendees, do please let us know how it goes.

Update Bullet List

  • Books Four and Five approach the layout stage and are on target for delivery to you in October. That's our current planned delivery window, pending any more hurdles. We're looking forward to having them in your feverish, grasping virtual hands.
  • The Campaign Starter Kits are coming together in production as well, and should begin a staggered delivery some time after Books Four and Five.
  • We're moving ahead on the tutorial videos, which are being scripted this summer for filming later in the year.
  • The PDF reference tools should manifest in the late fall, as they're depending on Books Four and Five as well.

That's it from this update. We hope you enjoy the rest of August no matter where you are or what the weather is like!

Ascending now,

This time with a link!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jul 12, 2017 at 01:01:24 PM

In the version of the universe that was yesterday, there was a link attached to the big ENNIES AWARDS logo that would have taken all of you delightful people to the Ennies awards voting page.

Alas, moments after I posted it, the universe rebooted as it is known to do, and now that link doesn't exist. So here's the link. We suggest you visit the voting page before the Invisible Clergy fills up again to 333 and we lose even this one.

http://www.ennie-awards.com/vote/2017/

That's the link, right there. We thank you in advance for your consideration and hope to see many of you at the 50th Gen Con this year in Indianapolis!

Cheers,
Cam and the UA3 Correction Team
